Exeter, UK & Online (12:30-13:30 CET)
In this hybrid-seminar will outline the work done to build a preliminary set of climate change adaptation pathways to help devise adaptive responses to managing future flood risk at a regional scale. The pathways are preliminary in the sense that they have been outlined using readily available information. The pathways are a precursor to building a more detailed set of pathways, the development of which would be informed by a focussed programme of flood risk modelling able to consider a range of future scenarios covering climate change, asset management, and land use.
Whilst these adaptation pathways are focussed on flood risk management, the seminar will also consider what it would take to extend the scope of the pathways to include strategic interventions to manage water resources in ways that are integrated with flood risk management as well as other aspects of the regional surface and groundwater systems.
