Centre for Advanced Process Technology for Urban REsource recovery (CAPTURE)

During several decades, our economy has grown according to the ‘make-take-dispose’ model. Now, we acknowledge that resource recovery is an essential factor towards a more sustainable and circular economy.

Started in 2015, CAPTURE has grown from an interdisciplinary collaboration between several young and dynamic professors from 3 different faculties from Ghent University, to an initiative invovling VITO, the Univeristy of Antwerp and by Vrije Universiteit Brussel with the vision to deliver a disruptive contribution to the circular economy. This is done by accelerating radical technological innovations in the field of sustainable resource recovery by multidisciplinary collaboration between stakeholders, with a clear focus on valorisation.
